Pierwszą zweryfikowaną osobą z listy poległych i pochowanych jest szer. Witkowski Stanisław, urodził się w Woli Korytnickiej w rodzinie Jana i Marianny Witkowskich. Dane osobowe znalezione przy zwłokach pozwoliły ustalić miejsce zamieszkania. Niestety ten Stanisław Witkowski zginął dopiero w 1945 roku, zastrzelony przypadkowo przez żołnierzy SB. Pochowany na cmentarzu parafialnym w Korytnicy. Kontakt z Rodziną pozwolił ustalić, że pochowany w Jeruzalu w 1939 r. Stanisław Witkowski to ta sama osoba która zginęła w 1945 r. i pochowana jest w Korytnicy (W. Grudniak).
